Art with Mrs. O'Neill

I set up a still life in the art room and we worked on it in several grades. The kids really liked it & wanted to eat the plastic fruit! Here are some of our results.

Every year we celebrate the International Day of Peace (September 21st) by creating an art installation of pinwheels in front of our school. Every student creates a pinwheel. Our wonderful PTO helps students assemble them and our music teacher works with students to learn a song of peace and sign language. Here are some close up pictures of some of the writing the kids have done for our bulletin board. They have a lot of wise words to share that the world can learn a lot from! 

Students are working hard on their pinwheels for peace & other peace day projects. One of the activities the students are enjoying is this interactive bulletin board. Students are writing on a post it note what peace means to them & then placing it on our bulletin board. They have had some great responses! 

I always love doing 3d bulletin boards. I saw an example I loved online with the thinking out of the box theme & had to create my own design. I'm really pleased with the results!

I went to set up my classroom last week & decided to add some new decorations! It's always fun to come up with creative ideas for the art room! It's still a work in progress, but I'm loving it so far!
