Youth Art Month

Every year our district works with the public library and art teachers choose student work to hang at the library for the month of March. We call it our YAM show fr Youth Art Month. I have some great artists this year so it was so hard to decide what to take! Here are some pictures of our school's exhibit.

Color Wheel Windows

I've been working on this window project all week. I had the idea a long time ago & when the time changed & the sun was blinding my students from the upper windows I just had to try it! I used electrical tape & tissue paper. Love the light filtering effect it has made:)

Carton 2 Garden contest

My art club kids have been collaborating with our recycling team to create a recycled garden. We used milk cartons from our cafeteria and all kinds of recyclables to create a rain forest themed garden. We are amazed at the progress in which our plants are growing! The students are enjoying watching our garden grow. We planted beans, flowers, and watermelon seeds. Hopefully we will win the carton2garden spring 2016 contest!  Here are some pictures of our project:
